International Day of Pink

The International Day of Pink began in 2007 when a student in Nova Scotia was bullied for wearing a pink shirt. In response, two classmates organized a movement where many students wore pink to show support and stand up to anti-2SLGBTQI+ bullying. What started as a small act of kindness and courage has become a global day of action, recognized each year on the second Wednesday in April.

On this day, students, staff, and communities come together to stand up against bullying, discrimination, and harassment.

Today—and every day—is a chance to show kindness, stand together, and celebrate what makes each of us unique.By wearing pink, we send a powerful message of inclusion, respect, and support for everyone to be their true selves.
